National Commission for Disaster Reduction (NCRD)
The NCDR is the inter-agency coordination body under the State Council, responsible for studying and formulating principles, policies and plans for disaster reduction, coordination major disaster activities, giving guidance to local governments in their disaster reduction work, and promoting international exchanges and cooperation. Headed by the Vice Premier of the State Council, composed of 34 ministries and departments.
National Disaster Reduction Center of China (NDRCC)
The NDRCC undertakes policy research, advocacy campaigns and educations activities for capacity-building and to increase public awareness. The leading scientific and technical center providing support to the government in addressing disaster-related issues. Uses space technology and other cutting-edge technology to support data management, risk assessments, emergency response and post-disaster recovery.
National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy
provides guidance on the ideology and principles of national adaptation to climate change and proposes adaptation goals, tasks, regional patterns and ways to safeguard overall coordination. The strategy provides defines ways China can adapt to the current and future impacts of climate change.
